Kayak Rentals
At Kitty Hawk Sports, we pride ourselves on having the best
rental equipment possible. As a dealer for Perception, Old
Town, Necky, Ocean Kayak, Hobie, and Hurricane Kayaks, we
are continually refreshing our selection with new equipment.
In fact, our manufacturers encourage us to offer rentals of
their latest models. No matter what type of water you want
to paddle in, we have a boat for you. We rent kayaks and accessories
year round.

| All rentals include PFD (personal flotation device), paddle,
backrest, and foam blocks and straps for transporting boats
on vehicle (if needed). All or a portion of your rental may be applied toward purchase
of new equipment. Receipts must be produced at the time of purchase.
New boat must be purchased within 30 days of rental.
You are responsible for the use of the equipment. Credit card
impression is taken for deposit, and theft, loss, or damages
will be deducted from your credit card. You must be 18 years
of age and will be required to sign a liability waiver form.

Kayaking Lessons
Kitty Hawk Sports offers private or small group kayaking
lessons on a variety of topics or on a custom basis covering
what you want to learn. We can provide all equipment or you
can bring your own (cost is the same). Contact us to determine
how we can best satisfy your needs.

Introduction to Sea Kayaking - available upon request
This beginners course will get you acquainted with kayaks,
basic strokes, safety, loading/unloading and everything you need

Sea Kayak Techniques - available upon request
This course takes up where the introduction class leaves off.
Learn more advanced strokes, basic self-rescue/assisted rescues,
wind and weather, navigation and more. Knowledge of basic

Kayaking Rescue - available upon request
Learn how to rescue yourself and others as well as how to
prevent tipping over with bracing techniques. Introduction to

Custom Instruction & Group Rates available by pre-registration

Custom, personal instruction and tours can be tailored to fit
your schedule and interests. We can custom design a tour or
class for one, or a large group or family. Group rates are
available on parties of 8 or more adults. Call for

Environmental Education - available by pre-registration only

Join our interpretive staff as we offer a more in-depth look
at some of our coastal environments. These programs are designed
to give participants a sense of appreciation for the natural
history of the Outer Banks. They are open to school groups,
educators, students, scout groups, and other organizations.
They incorporate "hands on" activities with workshops,
tours and special events. Programs include: Kayak Field Trips,
Beach Walks, Exploring the Salt Marsh, Maritime Forest, or Freshwater
Ecology, Bird Identification Field Trips, Marine Mammals, Coastal
Plants, & Animals and more. Call for group rates. |
Multi-Lesson Discount Certificate
Want to learn all you can about sea kayaking? Purchase our
lesson certificate and receive a discount for multiple lessons.
Lessons may need to be given over a period of several days,
certificate good for one year. |
